Drink bottled water. Make a difference. That's the theme behind a campaign for the widespread launch of Ethos, the brand that up until now has been available only in 7,000 Starbucks locations. In a partnership with Pepsi-Cola North America, the brand is being rolled out to 40,000 mass merchandisers as well as convenience, supermarkets and drugstores in a push that will benefit water-stressed countries. For each bottle of Ethos sold, 5 cents is contributed to the Ethos Water Fund;

Shelling out big bucks is no guarantee of success. Chances are, two weeks ago you hadn’t even heard of Hong Kong singer/actor, Edison Chen. Now, thanks to the internet and a healthy dose of amoral curiosity, you’ve probably seen a bit too much of him.The speed of ‘Edisongate’ has left Asia’s marketing industry baffled. In response, brands such as Pepsi, EPS and Disney have dropped Chen and several of the female victims, including Twins singer Gillian Chung, from their marketing activities.

Vietnam: JWT pulls out of S-Fone pitch |

JWT has pulled out of the advertising pitch for Vietnamese telco S-Fone, an account it handles, citing conflict with global client Nokia as the reason for its withdrawal. The move leaves Leo Burnett, Ogilvy & Mather and DDB in the running for the business. The S-Fone account has been marred by rumours of unpaid fees by the client in the past, with some agencies suggesting they may walk away from the business, even if they win it. S-Fone has pitched the account every year in recent years,
