Google: offline search launchOnline giant Google is set to launch an offline web browser service called Google Gears, which will allow users to access it remotely while on planes and trains and some of the most inaccessible places across the globe. Google Gears will open up as-yet-untapped pockets of consumers, including the difficult to reach business traveller. The open source application will allow Google users to access the online firm's services, such as the Google news reader, offline from today.

 Recently, the results of the 2007 Cone Consumer Environmental Survey were released. Brands would be interested in learning about how seriously Americans are now taking the environment, and the implications these feelings have on business practices. The survey found one-third of Americans (32 percent) report heightened interest in the environment compared to a year ago. This brings the total of Americans who claim to be interested in the environment to 88 percent.
