"Dove...campaign aims to reach a million young girls in Southeast Asia over the next three months. In a follow-up to 'Campaign for real beauty' Dove has launched a
through-the-line blast to educate and repair low self-esteem among
young girls.Departing from phase one's focus
on adult women, phase two hones in on teenagers. The campaign stems
from findings of a Dove-commissioned study,' Beauty, Self-Esteem and
the Asian Teenager' which polled nearly 3,000 teenage and adult women.

Judging has been completed for the inaugural World Press Awards. The
jury - led by former WPP worldwide creative director Neil French
(pictured) – sifted through 1,350 entries from "every ad-producing
market in the world," said French, who estimated a fifth were from
Asia. The judges - selected according to their career awards
tallies - were Tham Khai Meng, co-chairman and regional CD of Ogilvy
& Mather Asia Pacific, Mark Tutssel, worldwide CD of Leo Burnett,

Mya Communications, a strategic PR boutique, is opening next month
in Vietnam following the country's recent ascension into the WTO. Mya has established business
opportunities with a number of local small and medium enterprises, as
well as a trade association with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce &
Industry. The team of five will initially work under the advisory
of independent PR consultants Steve Joel - who owns Joel Publicity in
Bangkok - and UK-based Ken Scott.

NASA Administrator Michael Griffin was given the Quasar Award, which is given to
folks who "contribute greatly" to the Houston-area economy. And while many of
you might not care about Houston or space or award dinners (that you're not
invited to), I think his
speech at that dinner is fascinating. In fact, it reads like something from
the Viewpoint section of Ad Age. He kicks things off by mentioning that the American people love NASA, but
they're not quite sure why.
