Calvin Klein has teamed up with mobile agency New Vision to launch a Wap site to promote sampling of its new fragrance Ckin2U. The mobile campaign, part of a communications plan devised by OMD UK, will be publicised in shopping centres across the country over the next two weeks. The site supports existing print and television advertising for the fragrance. Christophe Spencer communications planner at OMD, said:

Rocked by its second recall in a month, Mattel is taking an aggressive approach toward reassuring consumers, running full-page ads in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and The New York Times today, and posting an apologetic message from Chairman-CEO Bob Eckert on its website. Mattel is now recalling 436,000 toys in its "Cars" die-cast vehicle line found to contain lead paint and an additional 18.2 million magnetic toys

Unilever's $1.1 billion North American laundry business is the first of many big U.S. brands expected to hit the market in the months and years ahead as multinational marketers increasingly realize it doesn't pay to fight for share in slower-growing U.S. categories. Unlike in the past two decades, when marketers were ditching smaller brands, some giants are now looking vulnerable. Analysts and others familiar with the company expect Procter & Gamble Co.
