This year's Black Friday saw more and deeper discounts than ever
before. But are the big retail chains making the same mistake as the
airlines industry? Black Friday was its normal orgy of shopping this year, but many
retailers seemed to go to new lengths to offer the deepest discounts. The Sports Authority had "6-hour doorbusters," with 25% off its entire
stock. Toys "R" Us offered "Lowest prices ever" with 50% off and more.
Sears featured "Insanely early Friday Specials."

Saatchis creatives apologise over fake ads |

Creatives from Saatchi & Saatchi Guangzhou have apologised for
posting fake advertisements that made light of tragedies such as
September 11. The ads spread virally after being posted on
an advertising blog, Ads of the World, sparking outrage among bloggers.
One fake ad depicts the smouldering ruins of the World Trade Center in
New York with the Lego logo and slogan 'Rebuild it' attached. A statement issued by two of the creatives

Global Group M’s forecast for 2007 shows the market is healthy with this neck of the
woods looking particularly promising. Global ad spend showed steady growth of
+5.3% in 2006, however Asia Pacific’s
forecasted growth for 2006 is likely to outperform the trend with +8% growth
predicted. Other trends highlighted in Group
M’s, This Year Next Year report,
delivered at a breakfast briefing in New York yesterday, included that China has
now outstripped the US
