The true impact of the credit squeeze has manifested itself in a dramatic decline in financial marketing spend. Finance firms' spend on traditional marketing relating to lending, across mortgages, credit cards and personal loans, has plunged since the squeeze began. Total adspend by banks, building societies and credit-card companies on advertising and direct marketing, excluding search and email, fell by £15m or 28% to £38m

Chelsea Football Club is expanding its digital offering with the launch of Bluetube, an online video service that allows football fans to upload user generated content. The initiative is intended to provide supporters with a platform for sharing their views on Chelsea games, players and upcoming fixtures, as well as video footage of club-related events. The Bluetube service, developed in conjunction with Level 3, forms part of Chelsea Plus, a new area of the club's website

David Beckham to star on Christmas special |

David Beckham is to co-present a one-off programme on BBC Radio 2 this Christmas with former 'X-Factor' presenter Kate Thornton. Beckham will jet back to the UK from his new home in Los Angeles next month to pre-record the interactive Christmas Day show from 3pm to 5pm. Thornton will field listener questions for the LA Galaxy midfielder in "David Beckham's Line Of Enquiry" which aims to give an insight into one of the world's biggest sporting icons.

The World Wildlife Fund has criticised a host of global cosmetic and fashion brands for their environmental and ethical standards, singling out shoe and bag marque Tod's as the worst offender and L'Oreal as the best. Its report, called Deeper Luxury, ranked major fashion brands on their ethical and environmental performance. None of the companies scrutinised scored more than a C+ for their efforts.
