 Asia Pacific has over 300 million internet users who are at least 15 years of age accessing the web from work and home computers according to the latest key findings released by ComScore, yesterday. The APAC findings, which came from ‘Digital World: State of the Internet' report, show an increase of 14% versus from a year ago as of January 2007, and makes the region the largest of the five worldwide regions (Europe, North America, Latin America, Middle East - Africa)...

 Youths aged 8 to 24 years rated the internet and mobile phones as an absolute neccessity, but TV is still the best entertainment source, according to a young Asians survey. The annual tracking survey conducted by Synovate revealed local youths are multi-taskers with media rich lifestyles, spending 12 hours a day on some form of media from watching TV, newspapers, radio to internet.  "...Community sites reached 59.5% of the online audience while content sites reached 92.7%... 42.7% of consumer time online is spent with content sites, 28.6% is with communication sites". Despite all the buzz around user-generated content, social networking and visitors to (and valuation of) Facebook, YouTube and MySpace, consumers actually spend a relatively small share (only 7.5%) of their time online with community sites, according to the Online Publishers Association's Internet Activity Index
