Visa has kicked off its second round of Olympic-themed commercials, with local Kong Fu actor Jackie Chan stepping in for another wave of Visa promotions. The 45 second TV spot launches in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand this week, featuring Chan and Olympic basketballer Yao Ming.  recent GroupM This Year Next Year report, predicts that clients' spending surrounding the Beijing Olympic Games will push the region's ad spend up some 38% in 2008.

"Our action filled spot featuring Jackie Chan ties into the 'Win a Trip a Day to the Games' campaigns that are running across the region and is a humourous take on how even a small purchase on your Visa card can get you to the Games", James Dixon, country manager, Hong Kong & Macau for Visa International, said in a statement.

"While our first commercial showed Visa as the only card accepted at the Games, this second commercial illustrates how that same card can take you there", he added.

BBDO developed the creative and OMD handled media buying and planning duties. In Hong Kong, the TVC will air on TVB, Cable TV and on Focus Media's lobby TVs, supported by print, below-the-line and online activity.
